LEMONGRASS –Cymbopogon. Flexuosus is probably one of our clients favourite essential oils that we diffuse in our clinic. Wonder why? Aside from it being a very familiar fragrance from their travels to Thailand, it has a pretty impressive list of therapeutic properties.
You can guess that lemongrass has a high citral content from it’s lemony scent which means it has anti-inflammatory, anti-septic and anti-fungal properties. It’s commonly used in skin care to treat acne, athlete’s foot, fungal infections and excessive perspiration.
Lemongrass also has sedative and calming properties, explaining why our clients love it so much! It produces an immediate sense of calm and relaxation, a welcomed feeling by all.
Home Recipe:
Try this essential oil diffuser blend to calm and destress (this recipe is suitable for a diffuser with 100-200ml water tank):
- 4 drops of Lavender
- 2 drops of Lemongrass
- 1 drop of Lemon
Not sure how to start? Try an ultrasonic diffuser which is really easy to use! At Acutoronto, you can find the Mini Sprout Ultrasonic diffusers which comes with an essential oil bottle (5ml/10ml) and it doesn’t require water. By using electronic frequencies to create vibrations essential oil is released in to the air.
Essential oils are accessible and easy to use tools to help you manage stress and help you feel happier and healthier. We hope this brings more balance into your daily routines.
