Introducing Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT or Photobiomodulation) to Acutoronto
We are excited to introduce this new service to our already robust line of services. We have brought LLLT to help clients that are struggling with pain, infertility or chronic inflammation.
We believe LLLT will be able to help clients improve their quality of life. LLLT can be helpful to decrease inflammation, promote blood flow. Both of these factors play a significant role in pain and fertility.
Low Light Laser Therapy may be able to help with
- Neck pain and Headaches
- Lower back pain
- Knee pain
- Tennis Elbow and Golfer’s Elbow
- Low Ovarian Reserve
- Poor Egg Quality
- Assists IVF to improve egg recruitment, quantity and quality.
- Improves uterine receptivity
- Low Sperm Count
- Poor Morphology
- Poor Motility
- DNA Fragmentation
What is Low Level Laser Therapy? The Science Behind It.
Laser Technology uses superluminous and laser diodes to treat diseased or traumatized tissue with photons (light). These particles of energy are selectively absorbed by the cell membrane and intracellular molecules, initiating a cascade of complex physiological reactions, leading to the restoration of normal cell structure and function.
How Does It Work?
“In the short term, the body produces and releases beta-endorphins to control the sensation of pain. Cortisol production is increased to combat the stress associated with the trauma or the disease process. Over the long term, ATP (adenosine triphosphate) production is increased resulting in improved cellular metabolism. DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) production – the protein building block of tissue – is substantially increased. Neurotransmission is facilitated secondary to elevated levels of serotonin and acetylcholine. Mitochondrial activity is stimulated resulting in cell replication for the replacement, regeneration and repair of abnormal cells. The process results in the elimination of symptoms, including pain, and stimulates the body’s immune system response, facilitating natural healing.” (Bioflex Laser Therapy: Science of Light).
We use red light and infrared light targeted to the area of concern. We saturate the skin/muscle/tendons and tissue with light and this light promotes the body’s healing function. Energizing cells so that they are better able to perform their jobs, removing free radicals (these are particles that cause inflammation) and triggering the body’s own healing response allowing all cells to recover from injury faster. Inflammation is reduced, traumas may be able to recover at a quicker rate, cells can be re-energized and re-vitalized such as egg cells therefore giving them a better chance at being fertilized.
