Starting a family is an exciting prospective and low stress when it happens naturally.
With couples waiting longer to start a family, the average couple takes approximately 7 months to conceive naturally. The body looks for the optimal chances, ensuring that the maternal body is physically ready, while also ensuring that the best match in sperm and egg is met, having the highest chances of survival.
Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Massage Therapy, Psychotherapy and Naturopathic Medicine are all treatments that may help optimize your overall health, reduce mental and physical stress as well as improve uterine and hormonal health. One’s health is unique and the right combination of treatments can be the key to improving your odds of conceiving.
Here is how we can help:
Acupuncture
Acupuncture helps to improve your overall health by addressing any concerns such as sleep, stress, digestion and more. More importantly we are also examining your menstrual cycle to determine when you are ovulating, if you cervical mucus is sufficient, helping you take the guesswork out. Acupuncture can help to decrease stress, improve blood flow into the uterus that supports follicle development as well as uterine lining.
Chinese Herbal Medicine
Herbal Medicine may be prescribed in conjunction to regular acupuncture treatments if you are experiencing more chronic conditions, this may help your body resolve these chronic symptoms in the goal to try and enhance your reproductive health. Individual treatments and reactions will vary from person to person. We do our best to cater to every individual’s unique health needs.
Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy as we are all familiar with, helps your body decrease stress, relaxes muscles and helps detox your body from built up toxins. We offer two types of massage that would be beneficial to enhance fertility:
Swedish Deep Tissue Massage
Provided by a Registered Massage Therapist, Massage Therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage therapy helps alleviate the soft tissue discomfort
Pelvic Abdominal Massage
Abdominal massage is the use of specific deep tissue manipulation in the pelvic, low back and sacral area to help reduce adhesions in the reproductive tract. Adhesions act like glue — disrupting the function and flow of the uterus. The massage involves gentle stretching to loosen tightened areas of soft tissue and is continued until the tension is released. The goal is to decrease adhesions in and around the uterus, ligaments, muscles, joints and support structures of the pelvis, abdomen, hips and lower back. It is gentle and noninvasive and has a success rate of 71% (Medscape General Medicine 6(2), 2004).
The therapy can retrain pelvic organs to return to their normal position and increasing the odds of conceiving and improving your health at the same time.
