IVF/IUI and Acupuncture

Reproductive Technology has helped immensely in improving fertility rates for couples having difficulty in conceiving. Combining Acupuncture with IVF/IUI may help to reduce stress and promote uterine blood flow!

There are several options through assisted Reproductive Technology and Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine can serve as an adjunctive therapy that may further improve fertility rates to 65% (Manheimer, E. BMJ 2008; 336:545-549, (8 March)).

Undergoing fertility treatments is stressful! It’s hard physically, emotionally and financially.  But it is the best option for many couples, Acupuncture is an excellent adjunct to Assisted Reproductive Techonology (ie. IVF/IUI). Acupuncture may help improve over all health, improve uterine blood flow and reduce mental stress all of which can contribute to a better chance of conceiving.

Acupuncture is a non-invasive means of improving uterine health, it aids to decrease your body’s stress response, increases blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, helps to manage thoughts of worry as well as helping to decrease adverse effects of the stimulatory drugs.
