    Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a pattern of disease that can be difficult to diagnose, and often takes a series of tests and specialists before a diagnosis is clear.

Its difficulty resides in the large variety of symptoms that patients present, some of the common symptoms however may include: pelvic pain occurring just before menstruation and lessens after menstruation.

Symptoms may also include painful intercourse, pain during bowel movement and urination. Endometriosis is the result of abnormal growth of cells (endometrial cells) similar to those that line the inside of the uterus, but in a location outside of the uterus. Treatment Options to Manage Symptoms may include one or a combination of the following:

    Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

The Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis for these symptoms is referred to as Blood Stasis, we address these symptoms with a combination of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. We help to promote blood circulation in the lower abdomen helping to reduce pain and regulate menstrual flow.

Treatment plans usually range from 6-12 months and measures changes during each menses.  We help to improve uterine blood flow to help improve menstrual flow quality and we help to decrease inflammation to help manage pain.  Acupuncture is recommended weekly with one timed during the most intense pain along with herbal medicine taken daily.

    Massage

Pelvic Abdominal Massage.  This form of massage specifically addresses the abdomen and lower back to help decrease adhesion and scaring and improve circulation in the lower abdominal area.  This like acupuncture will help to decrease pain and regulate flow over time.  12 consecutive sessions are what is usually recommended.

Treatment Options to Help Improve Chances of Conceiving:

Both Acupuncture and Abodminal Massage can aid in enhancing your chances of conceiving.  We work to improve uterine blood flow, removing adhesion and decreasing pelvic inflammation.  All of which help to regulate your menstrual cycle and enhance your fertility.

    Treatment Options Post Laparoscopic Surgery:

    Acupuncture

Using Acupuncture post-surgery can help decrease inflammation which may help to speed your recovery.  Having acupuncture on a regular basis can help to continually manage inflammation in the hopes of allowing for a slower regression of symptoms and endometrial tissue.

    Massage

Pelvic Abdominal Massage is recommended on a regular basis to help maintain the results of surgery and improve blood flow into the uterus.
