Jasmine Sufi

HBSc, BHSc, R.Ac, R.TCMP
Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner

More about Jasmine

Jasmine is a Registered Practitioner with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturists of Ontario.

Ellice and I started this little clinic with a vision of a wellness clinic with a lot of heart, providing unsurpassed compassionate care with a team that love what they do and do their best in empowering people with their health.

We started with just the basics and some ambition and 16 years later we’ve grown to having a multidisciplinary practice with amazing practitioners with a focused interest in fertility, pregnancy and postpartum care. We all work towards optimizing every person’s health and well-being!

I love what I do and am blessed to be able to grow and learn with the group of clients that have come my way over the years. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know my clients and grow with them as we carve out their health goals and work towards achieving all of them.

I began my educational career at the University of Toronto, completing a H.BSc in neuroscience and Biology. I then continued my journey to complete a 4 year program in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture at the Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences. My experience also includes; internships at Mount Sinai and St. John’s Rehabilitation Hospital and 8 years of teaching clinical acupuncture at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. My continual pursuit of knowledge has helped to keep me embedded in the foundations of Chinese Medicine while constantly growing and molding to the new research that arise. This unique skillset gives me the ability to adapt to the needs of my clients as science gains new grounds in the field of TCM.

Ellice Yang

HBSc, BHSc, R.Ac, R.TCMP
Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner

More about Ellice

Ellice is a Registered Practitioner with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturists of Ontario and a graduate from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in biology.

Acutoronto has really evolved into what Jasmine and I envisioned back in 2004 – an integrative health centre focusing on reproductive health to address fertility issues, pregnancy and labour support.

I am classically trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine but bridge that knowledge with modern science and evidence-based research. Over the years I have had the privilege of being a part of my patient’s health journey to conceive and to support them during their pregnancy and labour. I recognize the unique hardships and sensitivities that come with each patient’s delicate fertility journey and provide a compassionate, warm and understanding environment to help achieve their health goals. After having fertility struggles and children of our own we can appreciate the resilience and share in the joy of our patients. One of the most common feedbacks I receive from patients is their pleasant surprise at how relaxed they are during the treatments and their sense of empowerment from the resources we are able to provide. I learn so much from my patient’s, and by understanding their fears, frustrations and hopes we can work together towards achieving their ultimate goals. We are passionate about Acutoronto and what we do and feel so blessed to work with such amazing people!

Ellice is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R. TCMP) with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) and a graduate from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Ellice completed her studies in Acupunture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at The Michener Institute and graduated with Honours Diploma in Acupuncture. Her clinical experience includes the Wasser Pain Management Centre at the Mount Sinai Hospital, St. John’s Rehabilitation Hospital and the Toronto Centre for Acupuncture. Ellice continues to further her interest in women’s health and reproductive concerns, and has completed advanced courses in fertility, obstetrics and pregnancy. Dr. Kate Whimster

Naturopathic Doctor

More about Kate

Two core beliefs drive my practice:

1. Health is wealth: Health is a life requirement, not just to function, but to live to your full potential!

2. Innate ability to heal: Each of us is a collection of intertwined systems that constantly seek balance.  Our body can regulate itself to resolve and prevent illness.

Patients seek me out because I am known as a tenacious problem-solver, taking a thorough and organized approach in pursuit of long-term healing, not just symptom relief.

I support patients 100% and “walk the talk” in my own life, living according to the same values I promote in practice.

How I work with patients:

  1. Thorough and focused naturopathic intake
  2. Determine root cause of current dysfunction/disease
  3. All your questions answered
  4. Naturopathic treatment:
    • Symptom management as needed
    • Establish foundations of health
    • Stimulate healing and remove barriers
    • Assess progress and adjust treatment plan accordingly

I have a special interest in:

  • Women’s health and hormone balance at any age (menses to menopause)
  • Fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum support
  • Gynecological concerns (including HPV, abnormal paps, chronic candida, pelvic exams, and more)
  • Thyroid balance (including Hashimoto’s hypothyroid)
  • Digestive health and optimization (including SIBO, IBS, GERD, and more)
  • Healthy detoxification
  • Personalized nutrition (including the Blood Type Diet, the GenoType Diet, SWAMI GenoType software)

Lori Nueda

Medical Office Administrator

More about Lori

My passion for wanting to be in the medical community started at a young age – I was quite sick as a child and would frequent the hospitals and doctors’ offices a lot and from that experience of having others take care of me it made me want to do the same and give back to the community in any way I can.

I took the Medical Office Administration course at George Brown College and got my diploma – one of the best days of my life 🙂

After a year of searching for the right fit I luckily came across Acutoronto – a cozy and welcoming clinic with compassionate practitioners that cared about the people they took care of and this suited me very well as I am compassionate and caring to anyone that walks into our door.

I have been happily here now at Acutoronto for 10+ years – I am looking forward to many more years to come and to also be a part of your journey here with us.
